Nyack Woman Indicted on Felony DWI Charges

A Nyack woman has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury in New City on charges that she violated New York State’s Leandra’s Law by driving drunk while she had children in the car, according to .

Maria Ross, 36, of 139 S. Broadway, Nyack, was involved in an accident on South Broadway in South Nyack on Nov. 22, 2011. Zugibe said Ross struck a parked car at about 5:10 p.m. and when police arrived they found that Ross was intoxicated.

At the time, police also found there were two children, ages 7 and 8, in the back seat of the car.
