Nyack Woman Hit With DWI, Drug Charges

29-year-old stopped by Stony Point police for traffic violations.

A Nyack woman faces drunken driving and drug charges after she was stopped for traffic violations, according to Stony Point police.

Kristen M. Welsh, 29, of 37 New St., was stopped by a town officer on Thursday. Police said Welsh was found to be intoxicated and in possession of marijuana and assorted other drugs.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, unlawful possession of marijuana, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and also issued traffic tickets.

Welsh was released pending a June 21 hearing in Stony Point Town Court.
