Nyack Police Beat: Petit Larceny and a Drive-By Punching

A recap of Wednesday's standout incidents.

The Orangetown Police Department responded to and investigated two standout incidents in Nyack over the past couple days.

On Wednesday, at about 9 a.m., a resident on N. Highland Ave. reported an individual entered their home and swiped several pieces of jewelry. The total cost of the missing items is under $500—the charge is petit larceny. No arrests have been made.

Later on Wednesday, police looked into a peculiar assault case. At about noon, a male walking on DePew Avenue reported a vehicle stopped near him and a male exited and punched him in the face—and then drove away. The victim was treated for a swollen eye at Nyack Hospital; no arrests have been made.
