Nyack Man Charged With Disorderly Conduct After Clash With Cops, Parking Authority Officer
Police: Highly intoxicated resident took a swing at town officer.
A Nyack man was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrested after he had a confrontation with a Nyack Parking Authority officer and two Orangetown police officers on Main Street early Saturday, according to Orangetown police.
Town police officers on foot patrol near Park Street at 4:12 a.m. saw Shane Thomas Kavanagh, 35, of 14 Gail Drive, running from a Parking Authority officer. Police said Kavanagh was highly intoxicated and the officers tried to speak with Kavanagh, but he became combative and took a swing at one of the cops.
Police said Kavanagh then resisted being handcuffed and refused to get into a town police car.

The Parking Authority officer who was working on Main Street told police that Kavanagh had approached him while he was ticketing a car and Kavanagh had spit on a village Parking Authority car.
Kavanagh was taken to Orangetown police headquarters in Orangeburg and later released on $250 bail pending a Feb. 23 hearing in Nyack Village Court.
