Nyack Father and Son Die in Route 287 New Jersey Crash Tuesday

Police have released the identities of three men killed in a crash on Route 287 in New Jersey Tuesday, Eyewitness News 7 reported.

Police identified the victims as Santiago F. Mercado, 42, and Santiago M. Mercado, 22, a father and son, both of Nyack, N.Y. The third victim is Harry Bulatowicz, 58, of Ellenville, N.Y.

According to New Jersey police, Bulatowicz was identified as the driver of a 1999 disabled cement truck that was parked on the right shoulder of the road. Police stated the Mercados were helping the disabled truck when a tractor-trailer driven Adelbert McKee, 58, of Ellenville, N.Y.,hit the side of the cement truck, killing all three men.

The tractor-trailer drove on and crashed into a Toyota Avalon carrying a husband a wife. Both vehicles caught fire and the husband and wife escaped with minor injuries.

According to police, no charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
