Marine Charged with Sex Crime at Park West Pool

Police arrest and charge 19-year-old N.C. man with criminal sexual conduct.

A 19-year-old North Carolina Marine has been arrested and charged with a sexual misconduct following an incident at community pool in Mount Pleasant's Park West neighborhood.

Kevin Guevara Alarcon of Havelock, N.C., is being held in the Charleston County jail on a $50,000 bond, according to court records. He's charged with second-degree criminal sexual misconduct, according to court records.

Police arrested the man after a female victim reported the early Monday morning incident, said police spokesman Maj. Stan Gragg. The victim reported the incident to police several hours after the alleged crime. It happened around 3 a.m. Monday, Gragg said.

Police have not released details about the victim, including victim's age. Alacron's home is near Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Alarcon had not posted the bond and remained in jail, according to court records. Magistrate Linda S. Lombard set the bond at a Tuesday morning hearing.

A good boy? If he was a ghood boy he would not have done this to a 14 year old little girl! I am sure he is saying that she lied about her age but that doesnt mean that it is true. It makes me sick that they let him back on the streets. I hope that when this goes to court that he is put away for a LONG time!!!

I know this girl she is strong and smart and not a liar. She sneaked out, what teenager doesn't. You also don't know anything about what she has been going through. I am very proud that she fessed up to leaving the house and more than that she trusted her mother enough to tell her. She wasn't caught and made up a story, she asked for help. There is no excuse for him, no means no. He is an adult, active military, much stronger than a little girl and she doesn't act or dress older than she is. She looks like a child and even if she consented out of fear, You do not have sex with children.

Let me start by saying you took the words right out of my mouth with that last statement. I have a 14-yr old that with makeup can certainly pull off a legal-aged look - scares the hell out of me. The 14-yr olds today are a lot more developed and can certainly pull off looking over the legal age of 18. Unfortunately, we will probably never know exactly what happened. I just feel there is a lot more to this story than they are printing. She made the conscious decision to sneak out and meet a man at 3 am, and if she led him to believe that she was over 18, then he is innocent of that aspect of it, but if he knew she was only 14, he deserves to go down.

So lets be clear here MtPMom, if a rapist says that his victim looked 18 and that she consented then it's ok as long as it occurs at some arbitrary time or at some arbitrary place? How do you define your rape ok zones and rape ok time periods? Myself, I prefer that rape remains as regulated as it currently is, or even more so. I guess I'm a big gov't progressive like that.

JoSCh...I did not say it was okay if a 14-yr merely looked 18. What I said was a 14-yr old could say they were 18, and look it. When you were 19, if someone told you they were 18, did you ID them? I seriously doubt it. That was one point I was making. The other point was that the 14 yr old did make a conscious decision to sneak out and meet this man; whatever time it would have been. And again...it appears there is more to this story than is being printed. Yes, I could be way off, but I could also be dead on right. I was 14 once, and I know the stupid things I did. The situation is truly messed up, but it takes two. If this guy did in fact know she was a child, then yes, he should fry.
