Man With 2 Pounds Of Marijuana Due Back In Court This Dec.

The Buskirk man had about $3,000 worth of pot in his car, and was driving while high on drugs.

Ivan Erchak—the 36-year-old Buskirk resident charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree and driving while ability impaired by drugs—appeared in South Nyack/Grand View court yesterday.

The case has been adjourned until Dec. 6.    

Erchak was arrested on Aug. 31 on the South Nyack stretch of I-87 when State Police pulled him over for a traffic violation. After an investigation, authorities found two pounds of pot in his vehicle (contained in six bags and valued at about $3,000), and learned he was driving while high on drugs.

Erchak is facing drug felony charges, and police are still investigating the incident, officials with the South Nyack/Grand View Justic Court said. Erchak may be indicted before the Dec. 6 court date, they added.
