Long Island Man Accused of Forgery, Theft in Rockland

Police: Impersonation leads to $990 theft from bank account.

An investigation of an identity theft incident has led to the arrest of a Long Island man on forgery and theft charges, according to Stony Point Police.

Steven T. Digsby, 50, of 1625 August Road, North Babylon, was arrested Thursday following an investigation into an incident in which Digsby is accused of impersonating someone to steal $990 from a bank account.

Police said Digsby forged a check and was in possession of a check belonging to the victim.

Digsby was charged with forgery, criminal possession of a forged instrument, petty larceny and second-degree criminal impersonation. He is being held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City pending a Stony Point Town Court hearing.
