Haverstraw Man Gets 15 Years In Prison For Gunpoint Robbery In Nyack

Shots fired, three people robbed outside Main Street bar

A Haverstraw man was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in state prison.

State Supreme Court Judge William A. Kelley also sentenced Francisco Cintron, 31, of 30 Spring Street, Haverstraw, to five years post-release supervision for his guilty plea to first-degree robbery in the Oct. 2, 2010, robbery at the Riviera Bar and Steakhouse.

The 4:15 a.m. incident at the bar at the foot of Main Street in Nyack was one of several in a rash of violent incidents that took place at our outside the bar, which has since gone out of business. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said Cintron walked up to the parking area of Riviera and fired a revolver in the air and then robbed three people at gunpoint.

Cintron was arrested by the Orangetown police minutes later. He was wearing the same clothing as during the robbery and had the gun and stolen property in his possession, Zugibe said.

No one was injured in the incident.
