Garnerville Woman Charged With DWI On Route 9W

Police: Car moving erratically near Rockland Lake.

A 20-year-old Garnerville woman was charged with drunken driving this morning after she was stopped for driving erratically on Route 9W, according to the Rockland County Sheriff's Department.

Gia Toro was stopped at 4:13 a.m. near Rockland Lake State Park. Police said Toro appeared intoxicated and was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Toro was taken to the Sheriff's Headquarters in New City for processing and was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony.

Toro was released pending a Dec. 12 hearing in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.
