Garnerville Man Caught in October Drug Bust Sentenced

Juan Medina, 26, of 67 Church Street, Garnerville pleaded guilty to third-degree Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance Feb. 19 and was sentenced to three years in state prison and three years post-release supervision.

He had been arrested in October 2013 when a six-month investigation of a drug ring based out of Haverstraw led to the arrest of 14 people on drug charges.

"These arrests underscore our commitment to continue to work to improve the quality of life for the residents of our community, some of whom have been plagued by illegal drug trafficking near their homes," District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said at the time.

Medina was found to be in possession of about 225 grams of cocaine in March 2013, Zugibe said.
