The party didn't have any raindeer, but local children got a chance to meet some pretty amazing animals up-close and personal recently as the members of Empire Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 of the Nyack Fire Department in Upper Nyack opened their doors to neighborhood children for a pre-Christmas holiday party.
After the animal show — including a really big snake — at the party, the kids had a special visit from Santa Claus.
