Driver Cited for 'Move Over' Law Violation Charged with DWI

He's also stopped for speeding on Route 59.

A driver who was speeding and failed to comply with New York's "move over" law designed to ensure the safety of emergency workers on the roads was charged with drunk driving on Route 59 in Clarkstown, according to the Rockland County Sheriff's Department.

Mark S. Poole, 25, of Pomona, was stopped at 3:57 a.m. Sunday by a Sheriff's officer after the car he was driving was seen moving erratically. When questioned, police said Poole appeared intoxicated.

He was taken to the Sheriff's Headquarters in New City and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and cited for speeding and the "move over" violation.

He was later released pending an April 22 hearing in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.
