Disturbance Inside Car Leads to DWI Arrest in Nyack

Stony Point resident charged after investigation on Church Street.

A Stony Point man was charged with drunken driving after police stopped his car to investigate an altercation that was taking place in the car on Church Street in Nyack early Sunday morning, according to Orangetown Police.

Christopher A. Riello, 26, of 16 Gilmore Drive, appeared intoxicated after the 2010 Mitsubishi he was driving was stopped at 3:45 a.m., police said. After failing field sobriety tests, police said Riello was taken to Orangetown Police Headquarters in Orangeburg, where he refused to take a chemical breath test for alcohol.

Riello was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and faces a hearing in Nyack Village Court.
