Blotter: Multiple Cars Stolen from Dealerships

Six vehicles were stolen from two car dealerships around the same time frame.

 

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.


Car Thefts—Spencer Chevrolet Auto Dealership on the 800 block of Baltimore Pike at about 7:31 a.m. on Oct. 15. The dealership reported that sometime during the night an unknown person forcibly entered the business through a window on a garage bay door. Once inside the unknown persons stole an unknown quantity of remote keys to vehicles and rummaged through offices and cabinets. The investigation showed that a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, a 2003 Saturn, and three 2013 Chevrolet Camaros were found to have been stolen from the lot. Further investigation showed that someone had forcibly entered a vehicle and stole the vehicle's radio system while the vehicle was left on a lift in the service garage. The incidents are under investigation by Detective Robert Nutley.

Car Theft—Conicelli Auto Dealership on the 800 block of Baltimore Pike at about 5:12 p.m. on Oct. 15. The dealership reported that sometime during the night someone stole a black colored 2011 Toyota Camry from the parking lot of the dealership.
