Bear Climbed Inside Pleasanton Family's Car, Drove and Totaled it, Then Escaped

Pleasanton family watched from the window of their Lake Tahoe cabin as a hungry, mad bear clawed and ripped the interior of their 2002 Toyota Prius.

A bear kicked, scratched, pummeled and eventually totaled a Pleasanton family's 2002 Toyota Prius after it somehow got inside as the family slept inside a Lake Tahoe cabin in late August, according to the Contra Costa Times.

NBCBayArea.com has a video interview with Brian and Cece McCarthy, and KGO-TV has an interview with Cece and son, Dylan. Family members said the bear tore apart the inside of the car.

The family reported the Aug. 28 incident to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department, and then found another ride home.

Watch the attached video interview with the humans, it explains exactly what happened. Sheesh, even I could have figured that out! Sincerely, Theda Beara PS: My boyfriend Ted E. Bear wanted to take me for a ride, but he can't drive a stick. Sorry he got a little angry and messed up the car!
