2 Nyackers Arrested for Drunk Driving

Clarkstown Police nabbed four alleged drunk drivers on Rockland roads over the past several days, authorities told Patch—one of whom was behind the wheel while also on drugs.

Authorities arrested 33-year-old New City resident Craig Lerner last Thursday night for driving while impaired by drugs, driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle—all felonies—and possession of a hypodermic instrument, a misdemeanor.  

Lerner also faces several vehicle and traffic violations. Police stopped him after a one-car accident on Route 304 near Germonds Road.

Other arrests

At 2:30 a.m. this past Saturday, police arrested a 23-year-old Nyack woman and charged her with two counts of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. The motorist was on Route 59 in Central Nyack when she was spotted by cops, according to police.

Authorities also arrested a 19-year-old Nyack man at 4 a.m. Friday, charging him with two counts of driving while intoxicated and a slate of traffic and driving violations. The man was stopped in Nanuet with only one functioning headlight.

Clarkstown police arrested a 47-year-old New City man just after midnight on Saturday, charging him with two counts of driving while intoxicated and several vehicle and traffic violations. The motorist was stopped on Lake Road in Congers after authorities spotted him speeding and veering, police said.
