2 Men, 1 Pound of Pot, 5 Charges: State Police

State Police pulled over a vehicle for a lighting violation on I-87 in Rockland County on May 27. While speaking with the driver, Andre A. Brown, 28, of Binghamton. Police detected the odor of marijuana and alcohol coming from inside the vehicle.


Further investigation led to the arrest of Brown for DWAI Drugs, the discovery of more than one pound of marijuana inside the vehicle, a small amount of marijuana on Brown’s person, and a digital scale.  Both Brown and his passenger, Dwayne K. Salmon, 34, of Brooklyn, NY were arrested and transported to SP Tarrytown for processing. 

Brown was charged with the following:

  • Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs
  • Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd Degree, Class D Felony
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor
  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Violation 

Salmon was also charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd Degree.  Both men were arraigned in the Village of Nyack Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail pending further court action.
