ST. THOMAS AQUINAS COLLEGE SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH KOREAN UNIVERSITY KYUNG HEE UNIVERSITY EXCHANGE PROGRAM TO BENEFIT STUDENTS


(SPARKILL, NY –November 20, 2013) – St. Thomas Aquinas College recently signed a Reciprocal Student Exchange Program agreement with Kyung Hee University’s School of Management in Korea, announced Dr. Margaret Fitzpatrick, S.C., President of the College.

The purpose of the agreement is to make possible the exchange of students between the two institutions. St. Thomas Aquinas College students will be able to take a seminar or complete a semester in the School of Management on the Kyung Hee University’s campus in Korea. Kyung Hee University students in the School of Management will be able to complete an academic semester at St. Thomas Aquinas College’s campus in New York.

"The St. Thomas Aquinas College community is proud to partner with Kyung Hee University’s School of Management,” said Fitzpatrick. “This agreement will provide our students with the opportunity to travel abroad, learn business skills from a prestigious international institution and be exposed to Korean culture. Kyung Hee Management students will benefit from studying at our Top Tier College and by being immersed in American educational culture, in the supportive and fostering environment of our campus.”

Each institution will screen and select applicants for consideration into the Exchange Program. Coursework within the program will be focused on management and business topics.

“We are dedicated to growing our campus and our offerings. St. Thomas students are the beneficiaries of our growth as an institution and this agreement is a prime example of the opportunities we are making available to our students to enhance their development as global citizens,” Fitzpatrick added.

Fitzpatrick also presented at Kyung Hee University on “Sustainable Practices and American Colleges and Universities” while visiting Korea to sign the agreement. Sustainability and Climate Change is a key initiative of the National Center for Ethics at St. Thomas Aquinas College and, through her presentation, Fitzpatrick shared a global view on the topic as well as practical ways institutions can make a difference.

St. Thomas Aquinas College’s School of Business is accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) and offers majors in Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Sports Management. The College offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program (General Studies, Finance, Management, and Marketing concentrations) with online and on-campus options, as well as Advanced Certificate programs. Additionally, students can opt for the 150 credit Accounting/MBA program which enables them to sit for the Certified Public Accounting exam.
