Obituary: Genevieve Muth of Valley Cottage

Genevieve Muth of Valley Cottage died peacefully at home on Thursday, April 25, 2013. She was 92 years old.

Genevieve was born in New York City on Oct. 1, 1920, to Joseph and Genevieve Ischen. She resided in Rockland County since 1957.

Genevieve was known to the children of Valley Cottage Elementary School as "Grandma Muth." 

She was predeceased by her husband Ernest and son Joseph. Genevieve is survived by her sons Ernie (Linda) of Valley Cottage, John (Sheri) of Ossining, daughters Joan Favre (Bob) of Park Ridge, NJ, and Jean Leote (Dennis) of Sparkill. She is also survived by 8 grand-children, 8 great-grandchildren and her loving caregiver Ally.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at St. Paul’s RC Church at 10 a.m.. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill.
