Dr. Roger Marc Baretz passed away on September 22, 2013. He was 82 years old. Born in Brooklyn, Dr. Baretz graduated from Poly Prep Country Day School, Yale University and University of Buffalo Medical School. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and served as a Captain in the US Army, where he served in Germany for three years as head of psychiatry for the Fourth Armored Division.
Baretz moved to Valley Cottage with his family in 1964 and practiced psychiatry at Good Samaritan Hospital, Helen Hayes Hospital, and privately in New City until his retirement in 2012. He is survived by his younger brother Harley, his three children Julie, Lewis and Billy and six grandchildren.
The funeral service will take place at Hanneman’s Funeral Home, Broadway, Nyack at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
