Finding Time

Okay here’s a great example of what becomes to your life and schedule as a new mommy, making plans and scheduling stuff becomes exhausting and very challenging.  My week changed drastically.  I had my Sasha scheduled for day camp for 4 hours and planned those hours.  I was going to spring/summer clean the house, pitch story ideas for my next articles and re-connect with colleagues and friends who don’t have a toddler running their lives.  But Daddy gets sick and then of course Mommy gets sick and all plans are off.   Not to mention my very independent little girl is going through a period of separation anxiety every time I go through the door, which means on top of all the feelings of guilt and failure I feel internally I get to see this little face staring up at me pleading with her big brown eyes…why go Mommy? Stay and play with Elmo and me!  New parents are always playing catch-up and there seems to be no way to catch-up.

Today I have help for a couple hours this morning and by the time I unhook myself from my daughter’s grip, slip out the door and figure out what I can do for two hours now that I’m ejected from my house, because of this incredible heat, meaning there’s no way Sasha can take her scheduled walk - one hour has passed.

My birthday is next month and what I want….a week of Sasha-care without the guilt.  Please is there a Mommy fairy out there?  Happy Monday.
