Lanterna Tuscan Bistro to Host $42 Three-Course, Four-Wine-Paired, Prix-Fixe "Tuscan Flavor" Dinner

Lanterna Tuscan Bistro in Nyack will serve a "Tuscan Flavor" three-course, wine-paired dinner on Wednesday, November 20. The dishes to be served will depend on market availability. The cost is $42 per person plus tax and gratuity with four different wines for tasting included in the cost. 

The regular menu will also be available.

Chef/owner Rossano Giannini is the founder of the Federation of Italian Chefs of America (founded in October, 2000). He also served as its first president. The organization is an affiliate of the international Federazione Italiana Cuochi, formed in 1960 to preserve and promote the authentic cooking of Italian food worldwide.

He is a member of Gruppo Ristaurante Italiani, an organization that encourages the cooking of authentic Italian cuisine. He has appeared on several cooking shows, written for Intermezzo (a cooking magazine) and authored two books: Cooking with Olive Oil and Signature Pasta.
He was twice recognized by the James Beard Foundation (in 2004 and 2009) for his gastronomic achievements and invited to cook at the Beard House in New York City. On Sept. 25, 2004, he prepared crab cake with Aïoli sauce, pasta with wild boar sauce, Filetto di Branzino al Balsamico and fillet of sea bass and molten chocolate cake.

He grew up in Lucca, Italy, graduated from the Culinary Institute F. Martini in the town of Montecantini Terme, and cooked at several restaurants in Italy and one in Pakistan before coming to America in 1994. He worked at Trattoria Dell'Arte and Masala, left America to become executive chef at the Sheraton Cairo Hotel in Egypt and returned to become executive chef at Torre di Pisa in Manhattan and later executive chef at Trattoria Frattoria in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

He opened Lanterna Tuscan Bistro on April 19, 2000.

Friday and Saturday. 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday. 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
