Tappan Zee Leos Help Homeless in Manhattan

Members of the Tappan Zee High School Leos gathered at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoney Point 7 a.m. Sept. 8 to make a Breakfast Run to Manhattan.

Drivers Laurie Wohl of the Blauvelt Lions, parent Patti Neier and club advisor Tricia Castelli helped the Leos bring food, clothing and toiletries to over 60 homeless individuals on 11th Avenue.

"The group comes away from these runs feeling a great sense of accomplishment and pride at having helped so many people in need," Castelli said. "They are all looking forward to the next run, a Midnight Run, Oct. 26."

The Blauvelt Lions offer volunteer opportunities through their Leos program at Tappan Zee.
