Founders Day Provides Fun for All in Brewster

Hundreds of people attended the annual celebration, which has been happening for more than two decades.

Main Street in Brewster was closed to traffic Sunday so local folks could walk the downtown and celebrate the Village's heritage during Founders Day.

Vendor tents lined both sides of the roadway while several musical acts provided tunes. Attendees checked out classic cars, enjoyed a variety of food, perused a book sale and watched youngsters have a ball with games and rides.

Organizers made sure the annual event was bigger and better than ever before, as this year's celebration coincided with Putnam County's bicentennial.

Hoping local Republicans will add theirs, too!

Ashley... just did! Unfortunately they have Facebook blocked at work. I had Brewster High School open house tonight. This is my first free minute! Thanks for giving us the opportunity to share.

Erin and her committee did a fabulous job in organizing the event. Brewster Chamber saw many of our members with their own tables up and down Main Street. It was great to be part of the festivities, the community and in the village. Visitors to our booth were very impressed with event. Kudos to all!
