First Niagara Bowl-A-Thon Benefits Youth Financial Literacy

Over 40 First Niagara employees participated in a Bowl-for-Kids fundraising event at Lucky Strike in Palisades Center Mall last week.

Overall, First Niagara employees employees in the tri-state region raised $6,818 for Junior Achievement of the Hudson Valley (JAHV), which educates students regarding financial literacy.

"At First Niagara, we believe it's never too early to start teaching children and teens that sound financial decisions can help them achieve their goals in life," said Ada Myeteberi-Ferreira, manager of the First Niagara branch in Pearl River. "That's why we support Junior Achievement here in the Hudson Valley and other regions where we do business. We are thrilled to see our Hudson Valley team come together to help advance student financial literacy."

"Junior Achievement has a long standing relationship with First Niagara in other parts of the state, and we are delighted to forge this new partnership in the Hudson Valley area," said Orla Fitzsimons, project manager for JAHV. "The money raised will help us deliver more programs into local high schools."
