'Rockland Lake, Hook Mountain and Nyack Beach' Book Talk & Signing with Vin tage Photo Exhibit written by local Author and President of ‘Friends of Rockland Lake and Hook Mountain’

'Rockland Lake, Hook Mountain and Nyack Beach ' Book Talk & Signing with Vintage Photo Exhibit written by local Author and President of ‘Friends of Rockland Lake and Hook Mountain’   Robert Maher Jr.

This book chronicles the  history of three New York State Parks through a collection of vintage images that will be on exhibit during this book talk and  signing.

The author describes Rockland Lake, Hook Mountain and Nyack Beach State Parks "as peaceful places to walk, bike, swim, fish, hawk watch, observe nature and walk a section of the 347-mile Long Path." But most visitors to the parks do not know that the area was once one of the largest producers of natural ice and was   also the site of large traprock quarries and thriving town of   Rockland Lake.
