Rockland Federation's Annual Super Sunday

Super Sunday - a day of fun and fundraising - is part of the Jewish Federation of Rockland's annual campaign to raise money for programs that strengthen Jewish life and help those in need in Rockland, Israel and around the world. Volunteers are trained to make phone calls to ask for donations; free on-site babysitting is available from 9AM to 12 noon (with advanced registration). Local teens can get community service hours by volunteering throughout the day or taking part in a special teen shift from 3-5:30PM, followed by a pizza party.

There will be a Gap Year Fair on Super Sunday from 3-5PM where high school students can learn about a variety of programs in Israel (and programs supporting Israel) that offer a meaningful year off between high school and college. Additionally, Rockland Federation’s PJ Library, a program that delivers Jewish books and music to local children, will hold a Super Sunday event for kids ages 2+ with adult chaperone. From noon to 1PM children will make care packages for Jewish children in Cuba, enjoy a superhero character appearance and are invited to come dressed as their favorite superhero. (Cost for the PJ Library event is $5 per child/max $15 per family, to offset the cost of care package supplies.) Another Super Sunday event that is free and open to the public is a showing of the documentary, The Case for Israel from 4:30-5:30PM, which is part of the Rockland Community Shliach’s new Israel movie club.
