In honor of Women’s History Month the Nyack Library proudly presents the film “Mothers of Bedford”

Wed. March 13, @ 7:00  Film Presentation of 'Mothers of Bedford' with Commentary by Vilma ("Nina") Balmaceda, from Nyack College



Vilma “Nina” Balmaceda, Director of the Center for
Scholarship and Global Engagement and Associate Professor of Political Science
at Nyack College will be on hand to discuss the film with audience members.                                                       
                                                           



Shot over four years, “Mothers of Bedford” follows five women
of diverse backgrounds and incarcerated for different reasons in dual struggles
to be engaged in their children’s lives and become their better selves. It
shows how long-term sentences affect mother-child relationships and how
Bedford’s innovative Children’s Center helps women maintain and improve the
