The Art of Henna

The practice of painting the body with henna has deep cultural roots. For some cultures, the paste kept evil spirits at bay while others used it for beautification or medicinal purposes. On Thursday, November 29 at 7 p.m. at the Tappan Library, Neha Memon, a professional artist from the UK who has years of experience in providing Henna art in the form of modern as well as traditional cultural designs, will offer an introduction to the uses of Mendhi across civilizations. Each guest will experience the process, which lasts for up to three weeks.. Pre-register online at www.taplib.org or call 359-3877 for more info.
