SPRING AWAKENING, Winner of Eight Tony Awards, opens Nov 16th at Elmwood Playhouse, 10 Park St., in Nyack, NY 10960.


One of Broadway's most talked about musicals and the biggest Tony Award®-winner in years will be presented at the Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack, NY November 16 - December 15, 2012, Friday and Saturday at 8:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM. Based on the infamous 1892 Frank Wedekind play, SPRING AWAKENING features an electrifying score by Duncan Sheik with book/ lyrics by Steven Sater. Directed by Claudia Stefany with musical direction by Chris Bankey, SPRING AWAKENING  features: T. J. Larke, Tom Mazzarella, Michael Serpe, Jose Velez, T. Eric Collins, Andrew Marcinak, Michael Deming, Emma Ruck, Olivia Didrichsen, Ashley Cohen, Audrey Patricola, Alyxx Weishaar and Meg Sewell.


Est in 1947, the award winning Elmwood Playhouse in historic Nyack, NY offers an outstanding and affordable season of musicals, comedies, and dramas in an intimate 99 seat, air conditioned, community theatre. The 2nd stage series, Sundays at 7, is a showcase for local and unique talents. Free workshops, special events and classes for children and adults compliment the main stage season. I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
