On February 28 th , Nyack Needs a Skatepark will be presenting our pitch for a small public skate plaza in Memorial park. Nyack skateboarders have been pushing for a designated and well-constructed skate spot for almost 30 years and still have nowhere to skate! There are approximately 700 people in the combined Nyacks who have skated or continue to skate. We've gathered over 750 signatures for our petition, which can also be found online at http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/nyack-needs-a-skatepark.html. We are asking for approximately 4,500 sq feet of land (the size of a tennis court) upon which to construct a state of the art skate plaza. This skate plaza would be aesthetically integrated into the park, and would be multi functional, serving several wheeled sports. There has been overwhelming public support for the plaza.
