Saxophone Great Joe Lovano, tenor sax with Kenny Werner, piano
Joe Lovano has been deservedly acknowledged to be one of the great contemporary masters of the jazz tenor saxophone. The secret to Joe’s success is his fearless ability to challenge and push the conceptual and thematic choices he makes in a quest for new modes of artistic expression, further defining the Jazz idiom. Although he's one of the most successful musicians working today, his lifelong regime of practicing, jamming and trying new sounds, endures. He is joined for this concert by long-time collaborator and friend, the masterful and wonderfully creative pianist, Kenny Werner. This one is truly not to be missed!

Guitarist John Hart with Steve Wilson, alto sax, and Richard Sussman, piano
A distinctive modern mainstream guitarist (and Rockland County resident), John Hart has impressed many with his fine recordings as a leader for Blue Note and Concord, and his imaginative and lyrical playing. Among his most significant associations have been with Termasa Hino, Larry Goldings, and particularly Jack McDuff with whom he toured and recorded. Steve Wilson has attained ubiquitous status in the studio and on the stage with the greatest names in jazz, as well as critical acclaim as a bandleader in his own right. A musician's musician, Wilson has brought his distinctive sound to more than 100 recordings led by such celebrated and wide-ranging artists as Chick Corea, George Duke, Michael Brecker, Dave Holland, and Maria Schneider. John and Steve will be joined for this concert by renowned jazz pianist and composer Richard Sussman.
Friday, April 19, 7:30 pm
Pianist Alan Broadbent with Don Falzone, bass
Pianist and Grammy-winning arranger Alan Broadbent has long been a major force in jazz. His long resume of accomplishments includes accompanying Irene Kral on her exquisite vocal albums, contributing arrangements to Natalie Cole, playing piano with Charlie Haden's Quartet West, and many recordings under his own name. A New Zealand native, Alan moved to the US and gained initial recognition with the Woody Herman Orchestra, and ultimately landed in LA where his career flourished. Recently Mr. Broadbent has made Nyack his home base, from which he tours regularly. We eagerly look forward to hearing what he and the great bassist Don Falzone have in store for us, since their earlier October date was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy.
