"At the Gate"

Please join us in viewing and discussing the film "At the Gate."

"Why don't the Palestinians just use nonviolence--they would win," is a common comment we have heard.  This film seeks to answer that question, showing that nonviolence has a long history, as well as many more recent activities.  The film interviews many activists about how they see their movement, the role of violence and nonviolence in their lives, and the future of their struggle for justice.

The videographer is Virginia Keller, Ph.D., an independent filmmaker who works and teaches filmmaking in the Chicago area.  The producers are a Quaker couple, Kathy Kamphoefner and Paul Pierce, who made the film when they worked in support of the nonviolence movement in the West Bank for four years.  Monjed Jadou, a Bethlehem area videographer, also provided footage for the film.
