Concert: John Whoever and Who Are They

On Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m., The Dennis P. McHugh Piermont Public Library will present a concert by John Whoever and Who Are They, a group led by Piermonter John VandenOever. Last year, the group released a new CD called What Is This, and in our area they have performed at the PAL Labor Day Concert, the Bastille Day Festival, Hudson Valley FOR's Concerts for Peace, and The Turning Point. Instead of a big show with five or six musicians, or a solo performance such as one done for a coffeehouse, they are aiming for the middle ground in this intimate show at the library and will use acoustic instruments with little amplification as they sometimes do when rehearsing. It allows a very pure and clear rendition of the songs, and the library audience will have a chance to hear some new music that the group is in the process of recording. Free and open to all.
