Rockland Welcomes 150 New Citizens Friday

A naturalization ceremony will be held at the Fire Training Center in Pomona at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

Rockland is welcoming 150 residents from 36 countries around the world as newly naturalized citizens on Friday.

Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato will administer the Oath of Allegiance to the naturalized citizens on July 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fire Training Center at Fireman’s Memorial Drive in Pomona.

Hon. Margaret Garvey will act as the officiating Supreme Court Justice for the ceremony. The Albertus Magnus High School Honor Choir will sing patriotic songs, while Director of Volunteer Counseling Service’s Foster Grandparent’s Program Eva Hernande-Goley, who is a naturalized citizen, serves as the keynote speaker.

The new citizens will learn about the New York Organ Donor Network from transplant recipients Michael Prendergast and Lauren Shields.

Congratulations to our neighbors on their citizenship!
