Passenger, 73, Hurt as Car Rolls Over, Hits Bus in Valley Cottage

A 73-year-old man was taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment after the car he was a passenger in hit a retaining wall, rolled over and struck a bus on Mountainview Avenue in Valley Cottage, according to Clarkstown Police.

The accident took place about 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, when a 2012 Kia driven by a 16-year-old Valley Cottage boy struck a retaining wall on the side of the road. The car overturned into oncoming traffic and hit a 2003 Ford bus registered to Rockland County.

Police said there were eight people on the bus. The only person reported injured was the 73-year-old passenger in the Kia.
