Though came to a halt late last night, the region is still recovering from the inches the October squall dumped on local roads.

The Nyack and Clarkstown School Districts have cancelled school tomorrow, noting several buildings remain without power.

Authorities were overwhelmed by the snow, too—while hundreds of emergency calls flooded command centers, a house in South Broadway , a fire truck in Valley Cottage became trapped under wires and a home in Upper Nyack had a tree come down on it.

Nearly 100,000 O&R customers lost power due to the storm, over 30,000 of which reside in Rockland. Several home remain without electricity—and in Nyack, folks may be in the dark for a while longer.

"Full restoration efforts will begin in earnest tomorrow," said Richard Kavesh, Nyack's mayor, on his Facebook page. "Trustee Doug Foster and I—along with Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee and many other public officials—just concluded a conference call with O&R. There will be very limited if any power restoration in Nyack today, as O&R is first doing damage assessment."

Clarkstown Police have reported that around 2,500 residents in Nyack, Central Nyack and West Nyack have called in reporting a loss of power.
