Boil Water Alert Expected to End at 5 p.m.

Local officials wait for OK from county tests

If all goes according to plan, homeowners and merchants throughout the Nyacks will no longer have to boil their tap water beginning at about 5 p.m. Thursday, officials with Nyack Water Company told Patch.

Authorities at the Nyack Water Plant estimate the —which has been in effect since last weekend—will be lifted later this evening.

Still, residents should wait on official word before drinking directly from the faucet. The water company is awaiting final results from the Rockland Department of Health, which is testing for harmful microbes.
