Black Bear Spotted in Orangeburg

Police investigate, ask residents for tips

are investigating reports of a black bear in Orangeburg, near Henry Street and Dutchess Drive.

Authorities said the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has been contacted, and recommend residents do not approach the animal if they encounter it. Pets and young children should be kept indoors until the animal has left the area, police added.
