The Midnight Slim Quartet Will Replace Petey Hop in "Barbecue & Music" at The Garrison on Thursday
The Midnight Slim Quartet with a repertoire of roots, blues and rock, will fill in for Petey Hop Hopkinson and his musicians on Thursday, July 25 in The Garrison's "Barbecue & Music" weekly series. Hopkinson's older sister died from cancer on Saturday.
Barbecued turkey with pineapple and red onion, prime rib and calamari are on the menu for this event, the next-to-last program in the series.
The evening's activities start with a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. which runs to 7:45 p.m. The menu includes:
- barbecue turkey with pineapple and Garrison Farms' red onion
- Grilled calamari with potatoes, frisée, locally grown corn and pesto
- Prime rib and soba noodle salad, sweet soy, peppers and peas
- Pasta salad/white balsamic/cucumbers/olives/tomato
- Local yellow corn/ ramp butter/sea salt
- Baby green salad/goat cheese/beet vnaigrette/chives
- Coffee and tea
- Dessert (a home-made selection)
Reservations are encouraged. The dress code is neat and informal summer attire (shorts are acceptable).
One more "Barbecue and Music" program is planned—to take place on August 1 with modern rock provided by The New Fiction. A different menu will be served at this event.
Seating is available on the deck, patio and lawn.
The admission cost is $30 per person for adults, $15 each for children from 2 to 12, and free for children under 2. After 8 p.m., a $10 per person cover charge applies for participating in music and dancing only (no food included).
