THE SHOPS AT NANUET LIGHTS UP HOLIDAY SEASON

The Shops at Nanuet will usher in the holiday season on Sunday, November 17 with a day of family fun activities featuring live entertainment, great shopping and dining options, capped off by a spectacular tree lighting ceremony that will fill the night sky with more than 37,000 twinkling lights on a replica 30-foot tall pine.

Starting at 2 p.m., at various locations throughout the property, guests will be entertained by holiday costume characters, face painters, balloon artists and circus acts and interactive stations featuring the Amazing Grace Circus, the oldest year-round youth-circus organization in the greater NY Hudson Valley area.

Visitors are sure to also enjoy the a cappella group, Harmony on the Hudson, a chorus made up of women of all ages and diverse backgrounds linked together by their love of four-part harmony.  This talented group will be found strolling the grounds and singing songs in their “barbershop” style.

The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. and will showcase musical performances by local artists, including the Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus and  The Temple Dudes, followed by Columbia Records Recording Artist Judith Hill, featured in the major motion picture “20 Feet from Stardom” and finalist from The Voice.

The Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus is comprised of dozens of youth from the ages of 6-18 whose song selection ranges from The Beatles, Broadway Shows, pop music and a variety of popular choral arrangements.

The Temple Dudes perform a wide range of classic rock and folk. This four member band has developed a strong loyal following from its frequent performances at local temple gatherings, fundraisers and other venues.

“We are welcoming the holiday season with the community and have planned a full lineup of activities that can be enjoyed by everyone in our vibrant outdoor shopping environment that will further add to the festive atmosphere,” said Ryan Hidalgo, The Shops at Nanuet general manager.

“This event is a great way to continue celebrating the grand opening of our beautiful fashion forward open-air center.”

Almost half are new-to-market retailers, including the three junior anchors, along with such names as Coach, lululemon athletica, Michael Kors, J. Crew, Vera Bradley, J. Jill, Sur La Table, Jos. A.
