This Weekend: Family Movie Night, Teen Games

Events taking place around the county this weekend

With the work week nearing its end, check out this list of just a few things you can do around the county this weekend:

  • When/Where - Friday - Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Corner Frame Shop, located at 40 S. Franklin Street, Nyack
  • Why Go - Go check out the Corner Frame Shop’s monthly series, this month featuring works all depicting the Tappan Zee Bridge. The exhibit includes photographs, oil paintings and watercolors.
  • Pricing - Free.

  • When/Where - Friday 4 p.m. at the New City Library, located at 220 N. Main Street, New City.
  • Why Go - Teens can enjoy a variety of games, including chess, checkers, board games and X-Box played projected onto a big screen. There will also be prizes and snacks.
  • Pricing - Free.

  • When/Where - Friday 6:30 p.m. at Veteran's Memorial Park, located at 81 Hunt Road, Orangeburg.
  • Why Go - Enjoy a night out with the family featuring a concert by Uncle Brothers at 6:30 p.m., a magic show at 8 p.m. and a showing of “Dolphin Tale” at 8:45 p.m. There will also be clowns and characters, as well as free popcorn. Guests must bring their own chairs and/or blanket.

  • Why Go - Help a group of Girl Scouts with their Silver Award Project on Saturday, when they’ll be collecting toiletry items for People to People.
