With the work week nearing its end, check out this list of just a few things you can do around the county this weekend:

Nyack Fencing Tournament & Open House

  • When/Where - Friday 6-8 p.m. at Nyack Fencing Academy, located at 40 Lydecker St, Nyack.
  • Why Go - Spend some time taking in the youth and developmental fencers tournament, while also taking a look around the academy and getting a chance to speak with fencing coaches.
  • Pricing - Free.

Sixth Annual Pearl River Special Education PTA Chili Cookoff

  • When/Where - Saturday 11 a.m. at Central Avenue Field, located at 66 E. Central Ave., Pearl River.
  • Why Go - Taste chili from all throughout Rockland and enjoy games, music and raffles all to raise money for the Pearl River Special Education PTA Scholarship Fund.
  • Pricing - $1.

Carolyn Family Fun Day

  • When/Where - Saturday 3-7 p.m. at Pearl River Elks club, located at Blauvelt Rd. & Elks Dr., Nanuet.
  • Why Go - Come out to the second annual event, raising money for the Carolyn Sullivan Foundation, which helps children suffering from severe illnesses and their families. There will be kids activities, games, food, music, prizes and more.
  • Pricing - $50 for adults, $20 for kids, free for kids under 5.

  • When/Where - Sunday 10 a.m. at Flywheel Park, located at 200 Ash St, Piermont.
  • Why Go - Enjoy the ninth annual Applefest, featuring homemade apple pies, a barbecue, vendors, pony rides and more.

Sixth Annual Congers Valley Cottage Rotary Italian Festival

  • When/Where - Sunday 11 a.m. at Congers Station Park, located at 10 Burnside Ave., Congers.
  • Why Go - Spend the day walking through the festival, which features vendors selling all kinds of crafts and tons of authentic Italian food.
  • Pricing - Free.
