Real Estate Roundup: Grand View Castle May Have Buyer

Real estate listings, prices and sales in Piermont and the Nyacks

There are plenty of new properties on the market.

Nyack, Piermont and the surrounding area had 18 new listings hit the market this week, including 11 single family homes, three condos, one multi-family home, one commercial property and two building lots.

These single family properties included a private Rockland Lake Hideaway, a charming stucco Tudor in South Nyack, a gorgeous contemporary off Route 9W with spectacular river views, a short sale on River Road in Grand View, a young Colonial in Upper Nyack on Lexow and a stucco and stone starter home on Jewett Place in Nyack.

The other properties included a great condo at Victoria Mews in Nyack, a few condos in Valley Cottage and an office condo on Shad Row in Piermont.

There were three properties that went under contract, and one of the most interesting deals was the short sale on the new home on Welles Ave in Upper Grand View. This beautiful castle-like home has been sitting there for over three years since it was built in 2008, and was originally listed at $3,200,000. It was last listed for $1,799,000 and is now under contract. (We will have to wait and see if the bank approves this deal.)

The area also had three title transfers that included a couple of condos in Valley Cottage and a large commercial property on Route 303 in Valley Cottage.

As a side note, with all this great new inventory, one of the things that is definitely lacking right now are single family home rentals. There is a major shortage of homes for rent, so if you have been thinking about renting your home, now would be a great time.
