Real Estate Roundup: Castle in Upper Grandview Finally Sells

Real estate listings and recent sales in Nyack, Piermont, and surrounding communities

It's been a very active spring market week for local real estate.

The area had 15 new listings hit the market, including three waterfront homes in Upper Nyack and Piermont, a vintage Dutch Colonial on Mansfield in South Nyack, a contemporary in Grand View, a legal two family in Valley Cottage, a couple of building lots in Valley Cottage, new construction on North Franklin in Nyack and a great business opportunity on Main Street in Nyack.

Four properties go under contract including a four unit building on Main Street in Nyack, land in Piermont and a Colonial on 9W in Upper Grandview.

There were only two title transfers—but they are this week's biggest story.  The castle on Welles Lane in Upper Grand View that was originally listed for $3,200,000 when it was first built, just closed at $1,360,000. That's 57 percent off the original list price.
