Pearl River Resident Struck Appointed to Rockland Industrial Development Board

Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef's appointment of Orange and Rockland executive Richard M. Struck tot he Rockland Indiustrial Development Agency Board was approved by the county legislature.

Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef appointed Orange & Rockland Utilities Development Director Richard M. Struck to the Board of Directors of the Rockland Industrical Development Agency (IDA). 

The county legislature confirmed the appointment of the Pearl River Resident to the IDA, which is a public benefit corporation which works to attract, support and promote commerce and industry in Rockland County. The IDA provides financial incentives to Rockland businesses, such as state and local tax exemptions and tax-exempt bond financing. 

"This region is very attractive to new business as well as current businesses," Struck said. "We have a splendid labor pool, fine schools, strong housing stock and a great location. We want new development to create jobs for our people and to expand the tax base to keep our communities affordable. I look forward to working with my fellow board members to further enhance an atmosphere in Rockland where new, appropriate development can flourish."

Struck has been with O&R for 29 years. He won the 2011 Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress Lifetime Achievement Award. Business attraction and current business expansion are part of his job with O&R. He has also served on the Pattern board and is the chairman of the Workforce Investment Board of Rockland County.
