Nyack Chamber to Honor Merchants, Residents

Chamber's 55th anniversary fete will be held at Nyack Seaport

Nyack residents, merchants and politicians will gather at Feb. 2 to honor outstanding community members and celebrate the Chamber of Commerce's 55th anniversary.

The gala–slated to run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.—will feature profiles of the business community, and speeches by government officials and special guests. 

"Our mission is to promote the health and prosperity of this very special community," explained Scott Baird, Nyack Chamber president. “We’re proud to be celebrating our 55th year of service, and to be sharing this milestone with the dedicated business leaders, public servants and citizens who make Nyack a great place to live, work and do business."

Accolades will be doled out, as well. Award recipients include the Hopper House, which will receive an Event of the Year honor for the 40th anniversary of the Hopper House Art Center happenings. Nyack attorney, business owner and former Chamber official John Costa will be honored as Citizen of the Year.

Entertainment will be provided by John Patrick Schultz and Rita Harvey, Broadway veterans and Nyackers who will perform the musical comedy "55 Years of Broadway in Song."
