Real estate listings and recent sales in Nyack, Piermont and surrounding communities

After 16 years of running one of Rockland County's only alternative night spots, the owners of in Upper Nyack are looking to sell. The property is being offered at $675,000.

For possible buyers, it's a unique opportunity—in Upper Nyack, there are only a few locations that allow this use.

The property has a long history of being a restaurant, bar and lounge; prior to Barz it was local tavern The Candlelight.

One of the most attractive features of this property is the parking; it's lot can accommodate upward of two-dozen cars.

The building was built around 1965 and sits on one-third of an acre. Inside is a 24-foot bar, pool table area, DJ booth and a spectrum of lights and glittering disco balls hanging over a spacious dance floor. There are three-and-half bathrooms, an outdoor sitting area and patio, along with a basement storage area.

Above the commercial space is a bedroom, full bathroom and living room.

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
