ARC of Rockland Selects New Executive Director

By the age of 15, Carmine Marchionda already knew that he wanted to dedicate his career to serving as a health care professional after volunteering at a local New Jersey hospital.

“It was an eye opening experience for me,” said Marchionda, in a press release. “I immediately felt a connection to the health and medical professionals who worked so hard to care for others who were in need. From that point, I knew that somehow I would make healthcare my chosen profession.”

He became a certified nursing assistant a year later while still in high school. That passion to care for ill is what leads Marchionda to his new position as executive director of ARC of Rockland, which provides services for individuals and families with development disabilities.

“I accept this leadership role with the knowledge that ARC of Rockland is a model of achievement,” said Marchionda, who assumed his new position in June. “In the short time I have been with ARC, I have observed enormous dedication and professionalism on the part of the staff, and a palpable commitment among the individuals and families who rely on ARC for services. I look forward to building upon ARC’s well-earned reputation for excellence.”

Before working for ARC, Marchionda previously was the president and CEO of Spectrum for Living in New Jersey. He was also a public management and health care specialist for the Goldstein Partnership Architects. Additionally he worked for the County of Sussex as a nursing home administrator, long-term care consultant, deputy county administrator and county administrator.
